Blackstrap x Santian Snolab Snowboard

Posted on in Collaboration  |  0 Comments

Blackstrap is a company based in Bend, Oregon USA who make outdoor sports focused products. About a year ago I won a contest to design a gaiter neck protector and one part of winning that contest was to have a one of a kind snowboard made. The snowboard was hand crafted by Santian Snolab who make bespoke boards. The board reflected the design of the winning gaiter, a two color character doodle illustration. The art ran the length of the board and covered one entire side. The wood grain is visible through the art and I really like that hand crafted feel. The final board looks great and hangs in my studio space.

Black Pig Brewery in Switzerland reached out to me to collaborate on some beer packaging for their Collabrew series. Working with their creative team I designed a background doodle for the can featuring a collection of beer related characters. The design featured heavy gradients and thick black lines to make the can stand out from the crowd.

The final can is available in Europe, mainly Switzerland. It will be available for a limited time in limited numbers. Black Pig Craft Brewing were great to work with and made this commission effortless. Creatively this project was a lot of fun.

Prinkster invited me to create a complete collection of all over printed products. The collaboration hosts a range of windbreakers, hoodies, swimwear etc. I was very humbled to be part of this brand that has worked with some of the street art giants, such as: The London Police, The Bear Champ, Bishopparigo, Kasart and Elxupetnegre. My collection features a range of new doodles created specifically for these products.

Eighteen products are available. Bright doodles, limited color doodles and several different product types. The art wraps around the entire product and I received two samples. The print quality and finish on these products were excellent. Check out the collection here: Prinkster x wotto.

Spin City Mats is a small business celebrating musical cities around the USA. They create cork slip mats for turntables for homes and DJs all over America. They recently launched an artist series and they asked me to create the first edition in the series. I was tapped to create a doodle design inspired by Los Angeles.

The doodle was full of hidden nods the the great city of LA. From the beaches to the graffitied city streets. The single color doodle was then printed onto their signature cork mat and made available online and in select music stores in LA. The mat is available here.

When I was asked to contribute a design to their collection I was thrilled. The design encompassed many elements and played well into my doodle style. With items relating to cycling, creatures, words and icons the shirt really was packed with details. The color scheme was limited but also bold with pops of yellow against a tonal gray. The shirt was am lot of fun to work on and the final result was very cool to see. With followers all over the world this jersey is sure to pop up in many expected and unexpected places.
