Murals

Last week I had the pleasure of creating another mural at Woodward Skate Camp, but this time in California. As usual I rolled up and sketched out a design in a few minutes, free styling characters as I went. I like the challenge of an empty wall.

I had the support of friends from Secret Walls and together we painted this massive wall inside one of the skate parks. Known as Art Park this little corner of Woodward West is covered in murals by many awesome artists. I was pretty stoked to be next to Bigfootone’s mural!

I also delivered a daily Art Workshop all week. Kids were amazing and helped with the mural.It was an amazing experience. I saw some amazing skateboarding and bmxing, made some new friends and ate a yummy ice cream too. The park is magical, the staff rock and the kids are creative wizards. THANK YOU for having me and for giving me a chance to leave my mark at Woodward West!

Golf Envy is an indoor golf simulator that provides members with a country club-like experience. With a membership, you can reserve simulator time, receive professional instruction, and participate in exclusive events and tournaments. Their HQ is based in California and I was tasked with designing and painting a large mural for their new space. They wanted my unique style with a golf twist and I was happy to oblige.

The design was centered around, characters, sayings, relevant words and personal easter egss from the five founders. They gave me a lot of creative freedom and soon the final design was approved to start painting. The 18′ x 13′ wall took 5 days and really made a unique centerpiece to the building. It’s used for the backdrop for videos, part of the brand score branding and encapsulates the core values of the club houses.

Golf Envy is growing and with each new venue comes a custome version of the original mural. This project was a lot of fun and I met some really awesome people through this experience. As Golf Envy grow, so will the mural walls and hopefully other unique branding opportunities too.

I designed the branding for the original Textbook cafe in Brooklyn a few years ago now. The coffee shop is also covered in my art. Well, the brand has expanded and with it the design. The new bakery location Bakery By Textbook is also in Brooklyn. All the characters and art on the outside if the building was designed by me but it was lovingly painted with so much care by Anna Grace Walton – an absolutely brilliant local NYC muralist. Seeing a brand grow makes me so happy and the Textbook team deserves it, they work very hard to bring a community driven brand to Brooklyn, NY. If you are in the area, check it out.
