BrewLink Insert Hop Reference IPA

Posted on in News  |  0 Comments

Brewlink Brewing in Plainfield, Indiana, USA is an awesome brewery born out of the heads of too very good people. These people hired me to design their branding a while back, since then they have got the brewery well oiled and the beer is pouring. Their first beer was a “hoppy Pale Ale” and I got the job of designing a can for it. The design was aligned with the previous branding but also captured a lot of my style.

The main area of the can boasts the beers name, which is obviously important. This is surrounded by an octopus, doodles and the original BrewLink characters. The beer was launched last month and has been very well received locally. The owners sent me a batch and it was delicious, not just because I designed the can. These guys are going from strength to strength with the first batch completely sold out. As I type this they are busy cranking out more batches and more delicious brews!

You can see more about this project here, including keg collars and a tap handle! I’m off to design more cans…….

Woot Allover Print!

Posted on in Tees  |  0 Comments

Shirt.woot and I go back quite far, I have had several tees printed there. More recently they have branched out into other product lines, like journals, aprons and sublimated all over printed t-shirts. These sublimated tees are pretty cool, not just because the art can be printed all over the garment but also because they are on trend right now!

I’ve always felt my doodle art style lends itself well to this kind of all over printing because of the level of detail in my work. Woot opened their doors to all over submissions and my design ‘The Dirty Doodler’ was picked up. It was printed and made available for a short period of time, I was lucky enough to get a free sample. The tee is printed ridiculously well, with almost 100% front and back coverage! The images don’t really do it justice but I am one happy camper. Click “View Full Post” to see images >

Ikea Magazine Cover feature

Posted on in Uncategorized  |  0 Comments

In the summer I was contacted by IKEA to give permission for them to use my art on the cover of their Life Magazine. I agreed but never heard back regarding the shoot or the feature. Recently a fan of mine noticed my art on the IKEA website and pointed it out to me. After a bit of digging I found out that it was featured in their magazine and my art made it onto the cover! Pretty flattering considering the distribution this magazine has.

The feature was about small spaces and how people use IKEA furniture to make the space work better. Éléonore Bridge’s apartment is amazing and my art lives in her living room. You can see it hanging in the cover shot and internal shots. The art featured is called ‘An Ode To Wild Things’ and is available at the following places:

Prints : Curioos (this is where the print in the feature came from)

T-shirts : Threadless

Other products : Redbubble

Amber Lotus Publishing x wotto

Posted on in News  |  0 Comments

Amber Lotus Publishing licensed one of my sugar skulls for their 2014 calendar, this year they requested a different piece of art for the cover of the 2016 calendar! It released a few months ago and very recently they got in touch to say the cover art was really helping to sell many calendars. I love hearing these kind of things because as an artist it means I have done my job.

Being a part of a calendar is always interesting because you never know who the other contributing artists are until it goes to print. I’m always excited and flattered to be featured alongside some truly talented folks. If you need a calendar and sugar skulls tickle your fancy you can pick one up now HERE and HERE!

Threadless Artist Store

Posted on in Tees  |  0 Comments

Threadless has played a pretty big role in my life. I got my start in t-shirt design there, I met some great contacts through them and most importantly Threadless bought my wife and I together! So when they offered me an exclusive store to showcase my art I was super pleased.

I decided to showcase some of my most popular pieces but also feature three exclusive-to-Threadless designs.  ‘The Scoundrels’, ‘A World Without Humans’ & ‘Con Gusano’ are only available in this store.  Threadless also pay amazing commissions on every sale here so you can genuinely know that your purchase is really helping the artist. It’s not a token payment, it’s everything about Threadless’s bottom line!

Dirty Shirty x wotto

Posted on in Tees  |  0 Comments

Dirty Shirty is a provocative apparel company with style roots in the L.A scene. They commissioned me to design one of my well received sugar skulls that would fit both the male and female market. An alternative label, they wanted something that stood out and was deeply influenced by Los Angeles street style.

For the female version I choose bright neon colors to contrast the dark outline skull art. This was partnered with a version of the companies logo using the day of the dead style flowers. Pink, blues and a bold outline made the whole design pop. For the male version we went way more subtle with a tone on tone feel. The colors were dropped and the outline of dark grey was printed on a cool heather grey blank. A cool project with a lot of iconic Day of the Dead influences, which if you know me, you know I love to illustrate.

Inkbox x wotto

Posted on in News  |  0 Comments

Inkbox has recently revolutionized the temporary tattoo scene with a product that looks like a real tattoo but only lasts a few weeks. Just after their launch earlier this year they invited me to be a featured artist. I saw the potential in this new start up and jumped on board. The guys behind the product are also really nice guys, which always helps. I designed a small collection for my own store within their vast range of designs. You can pick my designs up here.

Since I got involved a lot has happened and through a kickstarter the company has raised a whopping $191,262 (to date) of an original 15K goal! This is allowing them to bring a new cleaner product to the market and push their collections into a marketplace, benefiting more artists. This is all great news because not only are they “blowing up” they are also supporting the Darien Initiative, which for 30 years, has provided community and agricultural support to the Embera-Wounaan and Kuna tribes of the Darien Gap, Panama. Boom! win/win/win.

I’m really proud to be a part of this company. They are going from strength to strength. I’m glad I trusted these guys and agreed to be apart of a small idea that just keeps on growing….Congrats Tyler & Braden.

wotto x Denik

Posted on in News  |  0 Comments

I recently teamed up with Denik after two other collaborations where my art was selected to adorn their notebook covers. Woot! selected one of my designs and then Design By Humans selected a design to feature on their Denik limited edition collection. These two separate collaborations prompted Denik to get in touch. We then collaborated directly on two further designs; Explosion and Calavera IV.

Explosion mixes a Victorian gentleman illustration with my weird and unique doodles, all exploding from his head. Calavera IV is a neon version of a traditional Day of the Dead sugar skull.
The original Woot! collaboration is no longer available but the Design By Humans ‘The Passengers’ notebook is available in limited numbers. This design is a character based piece that has a weird monster riding a giraffe, possibly my favorite of all these products.
